Ever gone to an amazing show and thought the host was just as good if not better than some of the performers?  I have!  Get to know the host with the most @TastyKeish of WBAI's "Rise Up Radio" in my next installment of "10 Questions With..."

10 Questions with TastyKeish!

1a. State your name gangster.

TastyKeish, one word, with a capital T and a capital K. I doa variety of things, host events, produce and host radio, working on my own webshow, voice overs, music blogger for societyHAE.com, multimedia P-I-M-P.

b. What makes you Tasty?

My mama said so and I concur.

2. What is Morebondfire and how did it get started?

Bondfire is an event for artists of all types by artists of all types. The show is a platform for artists to come and share and to be exposed to new art by others.

3. One of the things that I love about Morebondfire is the live art present at every show. Why did you (and host Conscious) decide to add that element to the show? How important do you feel art is in relation to music?

The art portion and the way its presented all fits in with the vibe of the show. Marthalicia is the blessing that has been with the show from the start and it was purposeful and important that she be given a platform to share her art while others are sharing theirs and every month she brings other artists to paint and then we're all exposed to them and support what they do.

4a. You're the host of Rise Up Radio on WBAI. Tell me about the show and what separates it from other FM radio shows?

I'm one of 5 hosts on Rise Up Radio and unlike other FM shows, we can play what we want for the most part and address issues within our community at the same time. We don't pretend to know everything and we offer way more than the usual rah rah fare.

4b. How did you get started in radio?

I love it as a kid. So much so I would make tapes and dub in my voice as a show host. When I finally settled on a course of study in college, I chose TV/Radio. I had radio shows all throughout college and never felt I should go in any other direction.

5. If you had to choose, would it be radio or hosting live events and why?

That's a trick question! With the climate of commercial radio today...I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole unless I was allowed to do something of an independent nature like bring in artists that haven't been tainted and just want to share their goodness with the world.

On the air, I like who I become. I get a little bass in my voice and turn into a superhero. Its crazy. I love talking to people. Doing community radio on the FM dial has allowed me to have dialogues with influential people of all facets and share the love or beef that listeners have with them. I take that on-air feeling and translate into live hosting.

With hosting, you're the face of the event. You have to make sure if the show is crumbling, the audience never knows it. It's more nerve wracking by far so the rush is more intense.

I can't choose.

6. You are also a voice over talent, tell me a little about the business of voice overs and how you got started.

It's the whole phenomenon of people tell you that you have a voice for this or for that. I've always had a clear vision with little to no mentorship. So I looked for a class and took it. By the end I had a demo. I found an internet database (voice123.com) that caters to voice actors and people that seek them and joined it. I'm bi-lingual, so it helps in getting projects that others can't do and I self promote. I would love to get an agent for more national or corporate work, so i'm working on that now.

7. Being on the radio, hosting live events and being a voice over talent one would think you have an interest in film or theater; have you ever acted or considered  it?

I considered it and i'm still considering it. I just get way too self conscious. I think actors have this innate ability to separate themselves and take on foreign characteristics, I don't think I have that. I don't want to come off looking like diddy, all stiff and halting. But who knows, maybe I'll learn...

8. You work with a lot of emerging artists from different genres all across the globe, what do you think are some important factors up and comers should know before pursuing music full time.

1.They should know that it WILL NOT happen over night.
2.They will have to spend money to make money.
3.Artists should learn the art of self promotion and not to harass people. If you're good, someone will take notice.
4.Engage your valued supporters and they will help you spread the word.

9a. When you're "off" professional TastyKeish mode what do you enjoy doing with your free time?

Watching TV and eating tasty quiches.lol

b. Are you ever in"off" mode?

Not really because in NY, I'll be on the subway and a dope singer will sing on the train and i'll start telling him to come to bondfire or to hit me up.

c. What's something about you that people don't know, that they would be surprised to learn.

 I have stage fright.

10. If you could only choose one word for your obituary or headstone when you die, what would that one word be and why? (Besides Tasty lol)

Motivated. Cause even when I die, I'm working on getting that number one spot in heaven.
