Music Monday: Lauryn Hill "The World is a Hustle" + new poem

Sometimes I'll listen to music and come up with my own poetic version to the song.  "The World is a Hustle" is an unreleased track by Lauryn Hill.  The piece The World is a Hustle is something that I came up with while listening to the song.  Enjoy.

The World is a Hustle by Shavon Meyers

I guess we're gonna fake it till we make it

The world is a hustle

So you better try to shake it

But when the dice are loaded

How can you ever win?

How can you get over

Without gambling in sin?

The world is hustle

And we’re all losing the game

Chasing after fame

But she never stays the same

She’s sitting sideways

While you got both hands on the wheel

Trying to follow the rules

But the house always wins

The world is hustle

And it’s not playing fair

Not showing its cards

And it’s holding two pair

It takes too much

And it never gives back

Watch your step

You’ll surely fall through the cracks

And when you fall

There’s a hell below

And If there’s hell below

We’re all gonna go

Because we’re all cheating life

Avoiding its rules

Hustling around the hustle

Making pacts with worldly fools

Who’ve traveled the universe

From the comfort of their block

Hustled by the world

Losing the game to the clock

Afraid to take flight

Afraid to live life

Afraid to challenge the rules

Afraid to roll the dice

Afraid to play this game

This game called life

Against the biggest player in the game

A player called Life

The world is a hustle-r
