Music Monday: Trey Songz

Yuuuuuuuuuup.

I just found out what the hell Music Monday on Twitter means (google it) so I'm taking the idea and making my own "Music Monday" right here.  Every Monday (don't hold me to that lol) I'll post something music related.

How is that different from any other day?

Good question, it will be more in depth.  I'll post a favorite music memory, or an album review, or what a certain song means to me etc.  So to start off I have to take a trip back and talk about an album that's not new to the world but is new to my ears...

You know how I always say I LOVE the mixtape Trey but can't stand the album Trey...

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaah.  I FINALLY listened to the entire album and I have to say, it's pretty good.  My pretty good = the average person's above average so I guess that means it's tight (still with me?).  Out of the 17 tracks ( 3 of which are interludes) I am damn near in love with 11 of the songs (no that  LOL song and "I Need a Girl" did NOT make the cut).  Trey has proven that he can pen a hit (or at least a catchy tune) but this album is solid not only because of the lyrics behind the melody but because he's really showing his vocal range on a few of the songs.  My absolute favorite has to be "Yo Side Of The Bed". Although I prefer the version from his Anticipation mixtape (which gets HEAVY play time in my ipod) the song is still beautiful and from what I've seen it looks like the video (featuring Miss Keri Baaaaaby Hilson) will not disappoint.

The runner up would have to be "Black Roses", the roses represent the dying love between Trey and his current girl...I hear that.

I STILL say Trey is an absolute beast on mixtapes, he holds nothing back and takes everything to the next level, but that of course is why it's a free mixtape.  When there is a label budget involved contrary to popular belief there are some demands and restrictions. Here is a fav of mine from his Anticipation mixtape called Infidelity.  It's unfair to try and pick 1 fav from the mixtape because there are quite a few but this one is always a standout.

In closing, he's more than just a fine ass piece of sexual milk chocolate eye candy, he has a pretty good album as well.  Ha!  And that concludes this edition of Music Monday, CARRY ON!
