GEMS (Girls Educational & Mentoring Services)

A few weeks ago I volunteered with The Diva Lounge for an event supporting the GEMS organization in Harlem (Girls Educational & Mentoring Services (GEMS) is the nation’s largest organization empowering girls and young women, ages 12-21, who have experienced sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking to exit the commercial sex industry and develop to their full potential).

I saw the documentary Very Young Girls on Showtime a while back and it was very moving, it had all types of emotions running through me.  Here's the trailer for it.
