The fight happened early Saturday morning, in an alley behind the Atlantic Avenue nightclub, police have confirmed.
The video shows people who appear to be security staff _ some of them wearing shirts with the words 'event staff' on them _ kicking a man as he lay on the ground.
Then the man's friend, wearing an oxford shirt with a white collar, is swarmed by nine guards - and punched numerous times in the head.
A 40/40 Club spokesperson declined comment.
Atlantic City Police Sgt. Monica McMenamin confirmed the investigation.
Police say two Neptune, Monmouth County, men _ Tyrell Durant, 26, and Leonard Clark, 25 _ were disorderly inside the club, and that Durant struck a security officer in the face.
The manager of the club, Carlos Lopez, told police that Durant ripped his collar during the fight inside.
Durant and Clark were led to the back exit, where, they claim, they were alledgedly sprayed with a fire extinguisher and assaulted. Police said Durant and Clark are the patrons shown in the fight video. Ambulance crews treated Durant at the scene, and Durant told police officers that the club's security guards took his watch and money.
Durant and Clark were in custody Monday for disorderly conduct. The investigation continues. Police say charges against the security guards are forthcoming, pending the identification of the people involved. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 609-652-1234, or Det. Thomas Holton at 609-347-5766.
DJ Zeke, a Queens, N.Y. entertainer who was celebrating his 25th birthday at the club Saturday, captured the fight on his cell phone. Zeke was standing outside the club/lounge/sports bar, on the ramp leading to a Caesars Atlantic City parking garage, when ...
"I saw the bouncers spray a man in the face with a fire extinguisher while they kicked him out of the club," he said.
Zeke posted the 45-second fight on YouTube, under the title "Behind the Scenes with DJ Zeke Brutal Bouncer Attack at the 40/40 club in Atlantic City."
Zeke filmed an introduction to the footage. It shows him sitting on the sofa in his apartment.
"Just came back from the 40/40 Club, Atlantic City, and it was jumpin," he says. "But behind the scenes, in the back of 40/40, was a different story."
Next, he calls out one of the club's owners, celebrity rapper Jay-Z.
"Jay-Z, if you see this, you should be ashamed of your security team, because they're lackluster," he says.
