"I hate heels, I hate heels. Love how they look but hate how they feel..."
It's the truth. @MissKeriBaby has a song called "High Heels" and the chorus pretty much sums up my feelings towards them. Honestly if I could walk the earth bare foot and naked I would lmao. Unfortunately this society frowns upon that so my next choice would be rocking sneakers and sweats all day, damn near everyday and that NEVER happens. I love shoes of all types but realistically speaking I can't wear 9 inch heels everyday but the minute someone comes up with a comfy cozy pair that feel like my Nike Dunks I'm all for it.

So why do we put ourselves through such torture for a pair of shoes? For me if I can't walk in them, they are not for me. If I can't wear them for longer than a few hours, they are not for me. I can't lie, I do have a few favs that look AMAZING but make me feel like I'm walking on glass after the first couple of hours...or dances...or drinks...but I love them! I love the way they look, the way they make me look and the stares that I get from women as they wonder where the hell I got them from (hahaha just kidding). I found an interesting article in the New York Times that tackles the issue of women and why we love shoes that hurt us. They spoke with professors, bloggers, an actress, etc to see what they believe could be the answer to this age old question.

These are sick!!!

Why We Love the Shoes That Hurt Us
If the spring fashion shows in Paris this week are any indicator, we haven’t hit the apex, or nadir, of what women might wear on their feet. But history has produced a lot of extreme shoes. Why do women wear them?
After all, the women can suffer consequences in both the short term and, according to a study reported in the Vital Signs column of The Times last week, later in life. Are high heels all about sexual advantage, since they elongate and exaggerate the female form? Or is there another explanation? What liberates women and what shackles them, when it comes to shoes?
