Book of the Month "brooklyn noir" by Tim Mcloughlin
So I'm still reading last month's book but I'm also almost midway through this month's lol. I have to admit Paul Robeson's book lost me for a minute. I felt like he spent a lot of time trying to explain some of his actions, political decisions and the statements that lead to his passport being revoked. Was it an unconstitutional racist act? Yes, there's no doubt about it and being that so much of his statements were taken out ouf context he uses the book as a platform to clear the air, which is fine, it just turned into the main focus for a while and I couldn't help wonder what else happened in his life. After he states his case the rest of the book seems to flow quite nicely (so far).
For the month of June I'll be finishing up "brooklyn noir" by Timothy Mcloughlin (editor). A group of short stories form various authors all with the many neighborhoods of Brooklyn as their main character.
