Ever wondered what the Times Square ball looks like before the big night?


I did lol.

So here it is, the realest shit I've ever wrote (whatever that means, I just had to use it before the end of the year lol) it's finally a wrap for 2008 and I couldn't be more happier.  I have to say this has been an interesting year to say the least.  Let's review shall we.

Let's start with the BAD lol.  Not too many life threatening situations occurred for me this year.  I do wear an "S" on my chest but I can't front I did have a few downers.  A handful of deaths, fam, friends etc. My Fam managed to get that much more crazier/ridiculous/unbearable (didn't think it was possible but they've proved me wrong), my neighborhood has officially gone to shit, SERIOUSLY.  I mean really, shootouts in the playground, in mid afternoon during the summer, COME ON!  SMMFH.  My ex broke up with me VIA TEXT.  Ummm, ok?  What the fuck part of the game is that? SMDH Whatever, 1st time for everything lmao.  And to top it off, right around the holidays my work situation got down right shitty. 
Damn, looking back is a trip, especially when you look back at the bad and realize, it wasn't that bad lol.  Not as bad as you thought it was when you thought the world was coming to an end.  It's true, you'll never know what joy feels like until you've experienced pain.  I've hurt and been hurt. I'm healed and have moved on.  Oh and if any of the ppl I just so happen to have hurt read this, my fault.

Now the good   I've actually gotten a lot accomplished this year.  Made a bunch of new biz connects, started this blog, saw some great shows, had a few really cool interviews, did some great things with some great ppl, few great parties, I voted for the 1st time.  I manged to avoid getting shot, stabbed, pregnant and arrested which is always a plus for me (and rare for someone of my age/race) put together the basics for some new BIG developments in 09 (oh yeah your girl will be a problem come the new year).

Releasing my 1st book of poetry was def the highlight of my year.  To finally hold a copy in my hand, skim through the pages and see my words in a published form...classic.

Looking back (again) the good really did out weight the bad for me.  Everything happens for a reason and I can honestly say that I am a better, wiser person than I was in Jan 08.

Now that we've looked back let's look forward!  I don't do the whole resolution thing.  I just get shit done ha ha.  BUT if I had to put together some sort of small list of  things I want to do or even need to improve it would go something like this:

1. I need to suppress my hatred for people.  Seriously, I really don't like people.  I'm nice to people, cordial the most but deep down, I can't stand them.  SIDEBAR I find it hilarious that ppl who spend 8 hrs a day with me in 1 atmosphere feel that they really know me lol If they only knew. People piss me off on an hourly basis but I need to deal with that and not let shit get to me.  Maybe it's the fact that  I live in a city with so many damn people or maybe it's the fact that I seem to be surrounded by fricking idiots on a daily basis but either way I need to man up and get over it because people aren't going anywhere anytime soon so I might as well deal.
2. I WILL devote some of my time to a worthy cause.  I am very blessed and despite my hatred for people, I do have a very helping nature (funny how that works).
3. I will not try to change ppl.  I'll offer suggestions for better but if a person does not want better, there's nothing that I can say or do that will change that.
4. Need to work on that whole forgiveness thing lol.
5. Continue to be me!  Happy, positive, funny (or so I'm told), real, honest, smart, train wreck in the morning, bitch in the afternoon, loving, caring me.
6. Oh yeah, do something with/for animals.  Maybe that can be my number 2 lol.

This is just a small portion of a bigger picture of things I have planned for 2009.  I'm not one to share my plans prematurely, I just do my shit on the low then BANG out of no where I'll say something like "by the way did you know that I have a book of poetry on sale" lmao, I kill me.

Well here's to a happy healthy new year.  Thanks to my readers (how ever many or few of you there are out there) for keeping up with my randomness and checking out the show.  Keep your eye out for me in 2009, I'm not going anywhere!!!
