The Coldest Winter Ever

Maybe not EVER, but it damn sure feels like it.

Speaking of that title, I just picked up Midnight A Gangster's Love Story over the weekend and contrary to popular belief it's pretty damn good, to me anyway.

I understand where ppl are coming from because in the beginning it was promoted as the follow up to The Coldest Winter Ever when in reality it's a prequel to Midnight's character and has almost nothing to do with Winter herself (I haven't finished it but so far it seems that way).  Whatever the case may be Sister Souljah has not lost her touch.  She can still tell a great story and has the power to captivate her readers within the first few pages.  I'll let you know the full review when I finish.

    well sort of kinda

Yes i agree, Sister Souljah did not lose her talent for telling a great story and thats exactly what she did in "Midnight" !!!
I know i'm among thousands of other readers waiting for the sequel to "The Coldest Winter Ever" but it the story was good that i forgave her for not giving what i really wanted to read about.
One thing, she could of at least wrote about some kind of connection between the two, but people in hell want ice water so.......

I too am patiently waiting for a sequel but I feel like it will never be as good as the original, then again what is?  I don't know if you ever read the book Fly Girl  (taking it back to hs days lol) but it was a great book.  When I read the sequel For The Love Of Money, I was like : /  Don't get me wrong, it was a great book, but I don't know, it's hard to explain at this early hour lol. I guess it's like that with all sequels.

Yes people in hell want ice water lol
