Nope, I heard his real name is Donny and with the blessing of the author's son he began using "Goines" after but no relation. Indeed, while searching for my 70's edition of Swamp Man, which I still haven't found, I came across a bunch of his books that I've collected over the years. I never brought Black Girl Lost, I borrowed it from the library so I don't have that one but I do have Dopefiend.
