Rock The Vote @ SOB's
Check out my interview with Jesse Boykins III on the next show!!!!

I checked out the Rock The Vote show at SOB's last week. Mainly to check out up and coming R&B/SOUL/JUST PLAIN GOOD artist Jesse Boykins III (if you're not up on him do yourself a favor and get his EP "Dopamine") but the night was filled with talent. Every performer had me jotting down notes in my blackberry about them so I couldn't help but share. Sorry, no real pics besides this one of JB III and a few other blurs lol.
First the Solomon Cortez and his band were great. I'd never heard of this guy before that night his band was pretty cool.
Kimberly Nicole is straight fiyah!!!!!!! Her live version of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" almost puts them to shame. I am def a new fan of hers.
Curt Chambers aka "Philly's Rock Star" is just that. This dude is nasty on his guitar.
Theophilus London-one word... JAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I made an huge attempt not to look up any info on this guy until I saw him perform. I kept hearing about him but I wanted to see him with out any prior influence. The 1st thing I noticed besides him incredible stage presence and delivery is that this guy oozes MJ in his performance. Yes that MJ. He's a rapper with an MJ swag. Very smooth and very different lmao. I copped a cd from him and it is a non stop party from beginning to end. Very cool. I mean seriously, anyone who rhymes over MJ, Prince and old school music is cool with me.
AND if you don't know about Jesse Boykins III have no fear, you will. Look out for my interview with him for my new artist spotlight on the next show coming right after this election (because you know I'll have something to say about whoever wins right lol). I'll just leaving you knowing that his album The Beauty Created is dropping Nov. 11th and you really really should cop it when it does.
