Hip Hop Theater Festival - the break/s
The Festival opened with the NYC premiere of renowned poet and spoken word artist Marc Bamuthi Joseph's much-anticipated the break/s. Inspired by Jeff Chang’s 2005 award winning Can't Stop Won't Stop, the break/s is a breakthrough Hip-Hop theater performance exploring Joseph’s travels from Port-au-Prince to Paris, Tokyo to Minneapolis, Senegal to Bosnia, while dazzling with a synthesis between performer, score, and moving image to create a live mix tape on stage.

I checked out the NYC premier of Marc Bamuthi Joseph's the break/s and it was amazing. I didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. This dude is very creative, he brought his travels to life with the use of dance, 2 turn tables, poetry and of course hip hop.
The HHTF continues on for the next couple of weeks with a lot of cool things going on. Check out their website www.hhtf.org for more info.
