The Coldest Winter Ever 2!!! Midnight: A Gangster Love Story
I have to shout out my big sis Ashti for putting me on to this via her books to read list.
I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT THIS!!! Mind you I have been checking Sister Souljah's website religiously up until the beginning of the summer for updates because she has been threatening to put out this sequel ever since she mentioned she was working on it years ago. (I just checked it, her website is down lol, but I'm sure it will be up around the time of the book's release).
Midnight: A Gangster's Love Story (hardcover) is set to drop November 4th (it got pushed back from its original date of Oct. 14)
(I think black folk are looking forward to this more than the 2nd coming of Jesus lmao, Lord don't strike me down.)
It will follow the story of the only man that could ever have Winter's heart, Midnight. I'm not sure what angle the sequel will take. There's so many to choose from, take a trip down memory lane with me, wont cha:
Remember the last couple of pages of "The Coldest Winter Ever"? Winter and her father were locked up, they were at her mom's funeral, her little sister had pulled up looking like Winter part deuce with the next big drug dealing baller pushing the whip "Forget it. She'll learn for herself. That's just the way it is". Midnight had went off and gotten married to some chick and adopted her two twin sisters...
The title throws me off a bit, A Gangster Love Story? What the hell kind of love story Souljah? Midnight saw Winter as a little sister, could it be that Midnight leaves his wife? Does Winter finally get her knight in shinning armor? Or maybe the book will work off of the twins perspectives, maybe her little sister Porsche? Maybe Midnight left wifey for Porsche? Can you tell that I'm excited? lol.
Seriously no book has captivated me the way The Coldest Winter Ever did. I know a lot of people who read it and I have yet to hear any bad reviews. I read it in 2 days and it only took me that long because I had to sleep lol. I just hope it lives up to it's expectation.

Sorry I'm late coming across this, but I felt the need to comment. I think that book was trash. I was so disappointed. We've waited years for this book to come out for her to write this bull? It was a good book, but I was just excited for part 2 of winter and her family, but Sister Souljah didnt mention winter or her family, not once. I was so pissed. Then, Sister Souljah charged 27 dollars for the book as if it was going to be good! It was trash and was not worth the money.
