NEW YORK (WABC) -- Supporters of Sean Bell are following through on their promise of civil disobedience.

Dozens of demonstrators protested in the streets around Madison Square Garden Wednesday, bringing traffic to a standstill.

The protesters are angry over the acquittals of three New York cops who shot and killed Bell outside a nightclub in Queens in 2006. Bell was too be married the following day.

Damn can a sista be put on the email blasts for these pop up protests? I got a FWD about ppl not spending money in NYC this Saturday in protest of the Sean Bell Verdict but I'm about to get in the street with these folk and piss some commuters off.  I heard Rev Al speak about a silent protest of some sort that was held a few years ago in which protesters were stationed at specific train stations and at a certain time they all jumped on the tracks and held up train traffic all around the city. LMAO brilliant, I can't front I'd be pissed for all of 10 seconds if that were to happen on my way to work (my trains have been delayed for stupid random ass reasons all this week) but I respect the reasoning behind it and willingness of ppl going to extreme lengths to get their point across.
