The Wendy Williams talk show...the world is not ready.
It's gonna be a cold summer...
Wendy Williams is coming to daytime television. The shock-jock will be channeled nationwide, as Fox prepares to launch her long-awaited talk show this summer.
According to New York's Daily News, Williams' daily talk show, which is co-produced by Debmar-Mercury (SouthPark) and Fox, will premiere on July 14. The hour-long broadcast, scheduled for a six-week run, will feature the outspoken personality interviewing prominent guests in front of a studio audience.
"The Wendy Williams Show" will air in the daytime in a yet-unspecified time slot will initially be seen in New York (Ch. 5), Los Angeles, Dallas and Detroit.
In an interview with the New York Post last year, the Drama Queen revealed the show would touch on every thing from fashion to food and health.
"We'll have everybody from Patti LaBelle talking about fashion, food and menopause to Beyonce, Jay-Z and Remy Ma," she told the Post. "I do want to have some celebrity chatabout and give advice, but I'm interested in all kinds of things busy women are interested in-food on-the-quick, fashion-on-the-cheap and fun with no headaches."
Although, the shock jock has made the switch to television, she's doesn't plan to retire from radio. Recently signing a new contract with New York's WBLS (107.5 FM), Williams will continue her radio show, which is nationally syndicated from 2-6 p.m. daily.

If you've never listened to Wendy's show, it's one of the most outlandish, harsh, gossip filled shows around. This is not saying that's she's a bad person. Wendy is GREAT at what she does and I can't knock her for it. We need shows like hers in the radio industry to keep ppl talking, but I'm not sure how well it's going to translate in the tv world. That's a different animal all together. She can get away with stuff in radio that she won't be able to on tv (not on Fox anyway). Guess we'll have to wait and see. (I can't front I'd love to see an interview with her and Remy Ma)

I always loved listening to Wendy and even enjoyed her books. But like you said television is whole different monster to try to conquer, her VHL show (where she had a lil freedom but on fox--let's see just how tame it will be) was not all that i thought it would be so for her to have a syndicated daytime talkshow!!!
We'll SEEEEEE!!!!!

I listen to The Wendy Williams show when I get the opportunity because it is entertaining. I do think she is crude and rude, and if her TV show is going to follow the same format, the show will not be successful. I attempted to watch her VH1 show but it was too much and I turned it off after a few minutes. Her antics on the radio is OK, but watching it, is another story. Also, I am curious as to what stars will agree to come on her show, especially since she has dogged most of them in such a negative way. I understand that she is a gossipnista, as she calls herself, but she is quite vicious in her delivery. Wendy Williams has negatively put down everyone (including Oprah, Tyra, etc.). Let's see how she holds up. She must remember, in order to be successful, she needs a variety of people and personalities in order to survive day time television. I don't think she can handle it, but I wish her success.

That's a good point about ppl wanting to come on her show. She has pissed off basically everybody in the industry. Being on radio behind a mic and getting your ass handed to you is one thing, but being on camera for all the world to see is another.

Ok she has pissed off ppl in the industry, but they still continue to go on her show!!! They need the publicity, and it's a known fact that if someone survives an interview with her then they can hold their own. She's brutal, but I love it. She asks the questions that other ppl shy away from.
