One book on my current reading list deals with The Cia, the Contras, and the crack cocaine explosion of the 80's.  It's a book called Dark Alliance by Gary Webb.  He was a reporter that exposed the CIA and the way that they basically leaked crack cocaine to the US streets via street drug dealers (Freeway Ricky Ross being 1 of them), how they secretly funded Latin American guerrillas & eventually it covered all up. 



It's a little intimidating at first, especially if you weren't following this story closely during the time it all went down.  There are a lot of names being thrown around  in the beginning but after a while it begins to flow like any other story.  A bit lengthy as well about 500 pages, but so far it's very interesting.
